When the music world is changing so drastically, the primary focus should be on innovation, originality, and longevity. Sexy Heroes, a group who has created their own unique style, are focused on doing just that.
The band have written two full length albums and two EPs which are currently on rotation at Seton Halls WSOU (voted the nations #1 college radio) among others. They have won numerous competitions, and have the experience of playing such venues as The Gramercy Theater (formally the Blender Theater NYC), Starland Ballroom, and Bamboozle (Main Stage).
Sexy Heroes energetic and engaging live act grabs listeners from the get go, turning skeptics into followers. It is also the reason they have had the opportunity to play at many notable venues and festivals, and share the stage with such national and international touring acts as Fallout Boy, Bowling for Soup, The Bloodhound Gang, Bayside, and No Doubt. The lads, in addition, were invited to work with Tribecca Flashpoint academy in Chicago to shoot a music video among other things.
From rock to funk, show tunes to blues, it is easy to see why Sexy Heroes appeals to all generations. Their powerful sound is evolving, and with a new album coming out in 2015 Sexy Heroes are definitely, without a doubt, a band that truly needs to be seen as well as heard!
Mike has been playing guitar since he taught himself at the age of 15. At this age, he started playing with his brother Chris which eventually led to the formation of Sexy Heroes. He was originally inspired by groups such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and punk bands such as Rancid, Green Day and Blink 182. Mike's style of playing is very rhythmic and hard hitting with a unique sense of melody. His background in musical theatre has also influenced him to think out of the box when it comes to writing and performing music. Mike will never stop playing music so don't even try to get him to.
Born in South London, England, Nick started as a violin player and ended up with a guitar. From Classical to Rock, Musicals to Punk and Funk, he has an eclectic platter of musical sound that helped shape him as a songwriter/ guitar player/ vocalist. Rock, Blues, Funk, and Punk form the main base of influence. With bands such as Queen, Pearl Jam, Hendrix, James Brown, and many “Motown” artists finding their way into Nick's favorites list, its clear to see that he strives to find a unique sound as a musician. Joining Chris and Mike at Sexy Heroes in 2007 he hopes that this songwriting trio can one day have the same influence and affect on people that these bands did for him!
Chris started singing many years ago, back when he was still doing musicals all the time. He started playing bass quite a while afterwards when he was 19. Now, no one can make him shut up. He can sing many different styles of music with confidence, and it's evident from his bass"ing" that he has a wide range of influences and enjoys music from doo-wop to hip-hop, from polka to ska. His attitude and stage presence are one of a kind, and extremely enjoyable to watch with a beer in your hand, though beer is not required.
